Since each piece of pottery is handmade, there will be individual differences.

Yasutoshi Sakanishi ⁡

Sakanishi is a potter in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture.

He studied under Toshihiko Shimizu of Tanba Tachikui ware and then became independent. He built a kiln at his home in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, and named it "Yasutoshi Kiln."

The dishes that are most impressive are those that incorporate a technique called "shinogi," which is a type of dish that is typically made by carving patterns into the pottery, a technique typical of Tamba Tachikui ware.

Each piece is made by hand and each one has its own unique character!
