<Onta ware>
Onta ware is pottery made in the Onta-Sarayama area, located in the mountains of Hita City, Oita Prefecture.
It has a long history dating back to the Edo period, and even today all processes are done by hand without the use of machines.
We continue to use the same manufacturing methods as we did back then.
Due to these traditional pottery techniques, it has been designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan.
Unlike uniform products made by machines, our products have the unique texture that is the benefit of handmade products.
You will feel the special sensation of knowing that each item is one of a kind.
It has been loved by the local community for many years as a daily item, "tableware."
We hope you will enjoy Onta ware in a variety of situations.
